Torn between XLE or Limited trim

As the title says, I am debating which trim to choose.

I am looking at the XLE due to the XLE having softer spring tuning and sway bar tuning with 17" wheels. JBL system with no sunroof.

The only benefit I can see to going limited is real leather and active noise cancelation.

Has anyone driven both to compare? I want the best ride with quietness.

Does ANC make a big difference in noise levels?

The limited does not have ANC. That is for the sportier models. I've driven both and the XLE seemed slightly smoother. I wanted the limited for the real GPS, birds eye and front cameras, and cooled seats. I'm not sure the XLE has softer springs. I think the difference is 17 inch wheels.

My mistake, the XLE and limited don't have ANC. But my question is the ANC models quieter at highway speed with engine noise generator off in eco mode?

Spring stiffness, for example, is increased 25 percent when comparing XLE to Limited; stabilizer bar stiffness is up 20 percent and 86 percent, front and rear, respectively, when progressing from XLE to XSE.

I've never driven one with ANC but someone should chime in here.

When I was considering a new Avalon I drove both the Limited and the Touring. I didn't really notice any difference in the noise level between the two, but I was only out in each of them a little over 15 minutes on fairly decent roads.

In the last few months I've noticed my Limited seems to have started having a lot road and tire noise, especially on coarser pavement. I only have 5100 miles on the car. The extra noise I'm hearing, however, may be an artifact of my bionic hearing (cochlear implants) as it is all in the lower frequency ranges with lots of rumbling and resonance.

It could be the tires if they are the Hancook they are not very good tires for wear or noise.

I took the Hancook's off mine the day after I got it and put Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus on. 7300 miles and no noticeable change.

The tires are the Hankook Synergy tires, which are not rated very good for anything. I'm really surprised Toyota uses them on the Avalon. Some accountant must have made some penny pinching recommendations to management. 😉

I think you may be correct. I will be going probably to Michliens when the Hankook's become to annoying.

For others who may be considering buying a new generation Avalon, I'm 6'4" and my head would hit the ceiling on models with moonroof. That made the choice for getting XLE easier and saved me thousands! Love all the standard equipment on the XLE and yes...ride is very smooth and quiet. I recently bought the Hybrid version for under $29K (+tax/fees) with the recent incentives.

You got a great deal. How do you like the SofTex upholstery as compared to leather? How about in hot weather (if indeed you have had any)? Does it get hotter than leather? Any problems at all with the SofTex?

Softex is more durable than real leather. The temperature between cloth, softex, and leather is only 3-5 degrees difference. It's the greater surface area of the material that make it feeler much hotter.

. I only drove and considered the limited with the advanced safety package..... I wanted the birds eye camera and rear braking.... plus, I’ve not been a big fan of the softex seat material.... but drive them and get what you want

limited has ventilated seats, memory seats, projector headlights, 4-way lumbar ETC ...

you can't even compare the feature list IMO ...

and the tires on Limited are perfectly fine unless you live in NYC like me and even here i am doing FINE on these 18" tires in my Camry ...

i also find moonroofs useless especially the little ones like on Avalon ...

but i don't see the reason to get XLE except that it obviously saves a ton of money.

my vote goes for Limited and if you think it costs too much you should take a hard look at Camry XLE.

I do not think the moonroof is particularly useful for ventilation... but I think it is superb in making the interior of the vehicle brighter and more open feeling.
