  2. Recommended Knock Sensors

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
Agree with going with the extra level assurance-thanks. So far Toyota Part Deal.com and Toyota Overstock which looks like Lakeland Toyota are 173.00 each an 183.00 for Boch Toyota plus 5.00 discount over 200. Any experience with the first two in terms of being reputable? I recall some time...
  3. Recommended Knock Sensors

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
Plan on replacing both Knock Sensors on 03 Avalon with 150 K miles along with coolant hose, wire harness, gaskets. Looking for the replacement sensors and I have found cheap DENSO's (part 89615-12090) on Amazon and expensive DENSO's on dealer parts websites. Any recommendations in terms of the...
  4. Freeze Frame Data Question

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
I am looking for helping in interpreting the freeze frame data for my 2003 Toyota Avalon with 150K Miles. Have been getting codes PO128 and PO330 but have not yet changed thermostat or knock sensor wire or knock sensor itself because I am wondering if the code PO128 could be triggering the...

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)

  7. Codes P0330,P0135, P0155

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
Replaced both A/F sensors and cleared the codes. Drove the car and no CEL and also checked with engine code tester and no codes showing. Will keep an eye on gas mileage-performance seems better and mileage in town starting to improve. Need to take it out on the freeway and see what happens...
  8. Codes P0330,P0135, P0155

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
Fuse Ok. Would have to test relay but no outward signs of issues eg; melted plastic etc. I suspect that the sensors have been gradually failing and triggered the knock code? I looked back at the service history and they have never been changed. I have ordered the new sensors through amazon...
  9. Codes P0330,P0135, P0155

  11. Codes P0330,P0135, P0155

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
A few months ago CEL came on showing the PO330 but CEL went off after while but gas mileage started to decrease. Now CEL on again and checked for codes which revealed PO330, P0135, and P0155. Gas mileage down from 25 highway to 20 and city 20 to 14-15. Is there any correlation between these...
  12. Rough tire wear outside front tires

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
Have developed rough appearing tire wear on the outside edges of the front tires. Car does not wander or pull to one side and rotations done yearly. Recently had shocks replaced. Suspect alignment or tie rod problem? 2003 Avalon XLS with 120 K miles.
  13. Coolant type to use and where to get

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
It is my understanding that the red coolant (Pentosin) is what should be used in 2003 Avalon XLS-trying to find out which one as several on the market and it looks like different ones for other model years. Also trying to find out where to get it at a reasonable price. Thanks,
  14. Fluid leak front cross member

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
Thanks for the feedback. Will check this weekend and see if that is where it is coming from.
  15. Fluid leak front cross member

    Avalon 2nd Generation (2000-2004)
2003 Avalon XLS with 110K miles. Have clear very light brown fluid leaking through holes in front cross member passenger side after driving. The fluid evaporates or soaks into the driveway after a few hours. The fluid is of a watery slippery consistency and smells like rubber hose. Unable to...
