  1. Aisin Water Pump Install Instructions

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
I used Toyota FIPG too, which I got at the dealer for about $13. I changed water pump about a month ago, and no leaks for me so far either. Honestly for a single use DIY water pump change, a full tube of FIPG was way more than enough. Pity they don't have a smaller size that cost like 1/3 the...
  2. Coolant Fluid 10 Camry LE

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
The only Toyota compatible pink concentrate that I am aware of is the OEM Recochem Pink coolant. Pentafrost, Zerex, etc are all 50/50. OEM Recochem coolant used to be easily available at PepBoys, but I don't believe that's the case anymore. I used this link to find a store near me that sells...
  3. Brownish-red coolant = radiator is rusting?

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
Just wanted to write an update to this: It turned out that it wasn't as bad as I thought. I don't any notice rusting, but I did have some calcification and white flakes/salting in the drained coolant, as well as rubber flakes from something. Also I don't know if the brownish red coolant was...
  4. Auto insurance?

    Off Topic
Old thread, but am in the market for auto insurance and wondering if people had any recommendations. I'm generally a safe driver and had been paying about $480/yr with AAA. I feel like it's mostly a scam though because I pay into it every year for almost 20 years and rarely get anything out of...
  5. Coolant leakage

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
The cooling system is meant to be a pressurized system, so any compromises like a leak actually mean that the coolant will boil at a lower temperature. I agree with the other posters that it's prob best to replace the radiator, especially since it's one of the easier DIY jobs that you can do...
  6. Coolant leakage

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Seems like maybe the radiator is leaking? I would clean it up, then try to find the source of the leak, so you know exactly what needs to be replaced. Also Toyota Red coolant would be better than the old green coolant. But only switch over to the Toyota Red if you're willing to drain and...

  8. Radiator replacement, which one to choose

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
Yup, they do look the same. So you can probably save a few bucks if you do choose to get the Aisin then. Also do remember to get the thermostat gasket while you're at it.
  9. Radiator replacement, which one to choose

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
I've read that Aisin thermostat could be a reboxed version of OEM. If someone gets an Aisin, maybe they can post a top and side view picture and compare to the Toyota OEM thermostat I posted in an earlier thread.
  10. Radiator replacement, which one to choose

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
If you use RockAuto, you can go to the Gen 3/4 Camry forums and click on the link to get the code for 5% discount.
  11. Radiator replacement, which one to choose

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
Denso is a popular choice. It's OEM. The larger core should fit fine and has a larger cooling capacity. Also consider replacing the thermostat and/or radiator cap (I prefer OEM for these) if it hasn't been changed in a while.
  12. No Dvd please Maps

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
What's wrong with Google Maps for navigation or something similar? Most smartphones have something similar at this point.
  13. Oil choice to reduce oil-use in 09 Camry?

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
I didn't realize the Indianapolis one had problems too. I know the Kentucky ones had a lot of problems. I think it's one of the reasons that even though Honda and Toyota both have good reputations for reliability, Honda has a better reputation than Toyota for specifically engines.
  14. looking for suggestion on NEW headlights brand

    Camry 5th and 6th Gen '02-'11, Solara '04-'08
Similar to buying used online then freshening it up, you can try to get some used from the junkyard and polish it up. I've gotten rear taillights from the junkyard and have been very happy with them.

Ebay is good. Possibly Amazon. Verify that they ship to Jamaica before bidding or buying.
