    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)
My issue was the headgasket, 3-4 bridged over.
  2. Changing ECM

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)
Has anyone changed the ECM without dealing with the dealer right away or do I have to get the immobilizer fixed before I can try to start it? This ECM is my last resort OE # 89661-02M92

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)
My vin is JTDBL40E99J023058. My failure was due to the head gasket bridging across cylinder 3-4 causing the block to get a nasty pit in it.

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)
Keep your headlights turned on and see if it helps, I cut my DRL wire and got in the habit on turning them on 24/7. IT helped fix my idle issue at stoplights or coming to a stop.

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)
So is there a special procedure for the VVT? I just aligned the timing marks correctly. I'm wondering now if that is whats happening with the cam.

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)

  9. Timing Issue

    Corolla 10th Gen/2nd Gen Matrix (2009-2013)
Looking for some experienced help.. 2009 2zr-fe, The original engine had cylinder 3-4 bridged due to a bad head gasket and severely pitted the block so that's on the side. I replaced it with a 2010 block with the original cylinder head. Couldn't find any difference in any way. SO THE ISSUE...
