Completed the job during the weekend; liquid was dark black, probably never changed in 210k miles; got out probably 1.7qts

      These were my tools:
      • 3/8 in. Drive 17 mm 6-Point ($4)
      • 3/8 in. Drive x 18 in. Breaker Bar - (Husky H38BB18) ($22)
      • Transfer Case Shift Shaft Seal (Washer - 90430-18008) ($1.50)
      • WD40 ($6)
      • Toyota ATF Dexron III x2qt. (00718-ATF00) ($20)

From under the car on ramp I pushed up until that things came loose; I was prepared to use a scissor jack to boost the Bar, but I got lucky. The bar and the socket fit perfectly in the tight space between firewall and transaxle.

I mean, you can use anything meeting the Dexron III spec...Dexron is not a Toyota invention, it's a GM product.
I know what you mean bro but i just wants to know the toyota part number for DEX III P/S oil like Toyota T-IV that par number is 00279-000T4-01 . maybe 00718-atf00 is the correct toyota part number ?! Thanks

What ATF do you guys use in your toyotas that require Dexron III?

      Link for the choices:
      1. Toyota Automatic Transmission Fluid (Dexron III) Unlicensed:

      2. Mobil Full Synthetic ATF (Dexron III) Unlicensed:

      3. Valvoline Full Synthetic ATF (Dexron VI) Licensed:

OK, I am confused by this whole thread. I don't have much experience with substituting the fluids with something not specified in my owners manual. I have been reading about "unlicensed" vs "licensed" so here is my question: According to your poll the genuine OEM Toyota Dex II/III part# 00718-ATF00 that I purchase from the dealer is "unlicensed" and therefore is suspect concerning quality.
Ste, Where did you get this information and could you provide a link to where you got it? The parts manager I deal with would like to review this information as well.
