  1. Looking for help on idle problem

    Pre-88 Toyota Pickup/Hilux
    That would help! ;) 1982 22R.
  2. Wire size of wires that connect to the battery

    Pre-88 Toyota Pickup/Hilux
Does anyone know what size these are? They connect to the positive battery terminal via ring terminals. I'm guessing it's 10AWG, but I'd like to confirm before I get the wrong size.
  3. Glue in windshield for an 82?

    Pre-88 Toyota Pickup/Hilux
It's solid, shiny, and black, which is urethane, correct?
  4. Glue in windshield for an 82?

    Pre-88 Toyota Pickup/Hilux
Hi, I have an 82 with what looks to be a glue in windshield that needs to be replaced. Can I use a gasketed windshield if I find one at the j-yard, or do I have to use a windshield designed for a glue-in installation?
  5. Need advice on purchasing '84 Toyota 2.4L Diesel

    Pre-88 Toyota Pickup/Hilux
Not to mention that a 22r w/ a tall rear end can get almost as good mileage. The diesel's of that era are up t 30 combined, the gassers are up to 26 combined.
  6. Are those round things fusible links?

    Pre-88 Toyota Pickup/Hilux
They're connected to the positive battery terminal. Here's a link to a picture of them. https://www.box.com/s/21ea122bf4c281cc9c6e If they are fusible links, can I replace them with MAXI fuses?
  7. 93' V6 Camry failed CA Smog Test

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Make sure the car is fully warmed up before hand, and you can also lean out the AFM cog a notch or two if it comes down to it.
  8. Egr delete or delete kit

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
EGR delete will reduce mileage by a small amount, and increase power by a small amount.
  9. ToyotaNation off line for 4 days??

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
I could be a DNS/routing issue too. Installing one of those psuedo-anon networks like Tor is useful in these situations because it will take a relatively circuitous route to the website you're requesting. I've had trouble with my ISPs DNS many times and connecting to a website via Tor almost...
  10. Missing Camry rear left wheel Stud. Is it dangerous to drive now?

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
You'll probably would have been fine driving for a while, just not like speed racer. I went for a year with a broken lug stud on each of my front wheels, but I drive like a granny too.
  11. Questions about 3VZ HG replacement

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Talk about a pain in the ass. The bolts on the exhaust pipe flange (where it meets the manifold) broke my breaker bar. It looks like I can get a propane torch on everything except for the bolts on the rear bank exhaust flange. What's the best way to get those out? I'm guessing that a breaker +...
  12. Questions about 3VZ HG replacement

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Stuff like that is exactly why I'm asking about it before doing anything. I figure I can just do the same thing I do when re-using a t-belt. Clean and mark all the points where the belt/gears come into contact with white-out, then rub it off after reassembly. Is there something about the...
  13. Questions about 3VZ HG replacement

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Are the cams in the way of the head bolts or something?
  14. Questions about 3VZ HG replacement

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
I did not know that. Are the manifolds just too much weight for the exhaust pipe to handle, or do they get in the way of something? I just realized I'll need to special order a replacement radiator from autozone anyway, so it'll definitely be a two (non-sequential) day event.
  15. Questions about 3VZ HG replacement

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
I'm trying to do this in a day, so I'm wondering what I need to do and what I can reasonably skip. Based on the shop manual it looks like I can pull the t-belt, all the upper intake (plenum/plug wires and so on) /fuel related stuff, exhaust manifolds, and then pull the heads as as two whole...
  16. How can I get the most mpg from my automatic 1993 Toyota Camry V6SE with a 3VZ-FE?

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Worse case is that it'll leak out/burn up, so keep an eye on it. You're looking at ~20mpg city/30mpg highway if you drive slow/efficiently. The best (realistic) thing you can do is swap in a four cylinder with a manual trans (ideally from a six (E53/E153) if they match up). That said, I've...
  17. I'm thinking about parting out my 92 Camry

    Car Parts for Sale
I don't feel like fighting with HG replacement considering how much gas the damn thing sucks down. Anyhoo... Does anyone have anything on their wish list if I were to part it out? V6 LE, 238k. I also have a set of NIB oespectrum front struts, and one of the rears. Feel free to make offers/ask...
  18. Looking into buying a camry with 110k and original timing belt?

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
My timing belt made it ~20 years/240k miles. As usual YMMV. ;)
  19. Just had the front/rear of my Corolla "redone", questions about repair.

    Corolla 9th Gen/1st Gen Matrix (2003-2008)
On the plus side, the settlement was great. Unfortunately since the car was in great shape it's buyback was $1400, which was probably because everything was pretty low miles/in great shape, but too much for me to risk it if it had frame damage, which it probably did in the rear. Thanks for the...
  20. Just had the front/rear of my Corolla "redone", questions about repair.

    Corolla 9th Gen/1st Gen Matrix (2003-2008)
Fortunately the other driver and I have the same insurance co, the battery was intact after the accident, and I didn't see any fuel leaks. The car itself was in great shape, only 84k miles. There wasn't any noticeable issue with the suspension, but I'd have to take another look, especially in...
