  1. Fuel gauge

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
The drawings make it look likes it under the truck, behind the cab somewhere. I doubt it will calibrate anything. It really verifies that its working. You need to pull the float out of the tank, and move it to full and empty, and watch the resistance change. Full 5-6 Ohms 1/2 59 Ohms Warning...
  2. 07 6 speed manual

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
If you're not good at it you may abuse the clutch a bit. Otherwise should be fine except if hauling a heavy load, you may want 1st back.
  3. REAR DIFF DRAIN PLUG SETTINGS 4 x 4 TRD OFF ROAD??

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Checking the 2005 FSM, looks like they hide it well, but its 36 ft lbf. (Was looking up crankcase earlier)
  4. 2015 Bed cover-need a part.

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
It might be made by Bakflip. This is the current lineup. Maybe check with them. https://bakflip.com/v/toyota/tacoma/2019/

Yeah, but I've got a HiLift jack and rock sliders, so why remove the wheel, that's at least 6x more work, one for each lug.
  6. Aftermarket side mirror heaters

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Here's a few ideas. The search here is now so fouled up I can't find any others. https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/heated-mirrors-for-2005-tacoma.102871/ https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/another-heated-mirror-diy-cheap.269420/...
  7. 4WD hasn't been used...

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
1 - 5 of 5 Posts carilc, the owners manual recommends 10 miles per month. We don't have enough rainy weather here to allow that. So it goes in alot when we have lots of rain, to make up for the drought months. There can be some corrosion of the switches inside the transfer case which can...
  8. Air conditioner works for a minute and then button starts blinking

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Here are some of the conditions that will stop the AC from working Evaporator outlet air temperature is too low. There is a marked difference between the compressor speed and the engine speed. (belt slippage) The refrigerant pressure is abnormally high or abnormally low. The engine speed is...
  9. Joining the WeatherTech Mudflap Club

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Well, here it is, installed with minor pain. Clearance is tight for my hand and a wrench between the fender and the tire, jacking the body up a bit made the work much easier. Covers the seam where the old flap touched.
  10. Air conditioner works for a minute and then button starts blinking

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Blinking light means a problem. Forget if its charge (most likely based on your notes) or something else. No time to look through manual right now. Open the hood, watch the compressor, and have someone push the button, see if clutch pulls in, then kicks out after 30 seconds.
  11. Toyota Tacoma Part Number

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
+2 on the weathertechs. Have had them since the first year I got my truck. Especially if you get crappy weather, live out among gravel, have kids, spill soda, etc.
  12. My Tacoma is making the strangest Noise

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I agree with yrffej, that sounds like the windshield noise other complained about. Try moving your phone around the perimeter of the windshield, see if its louder in one location. If not that, there was a few people talking about noise from the cab exhausts that relieve cabin pressure into...

Visual Train Wreck. The Bright White is glaring on my desktop screens. The Dark Mode is only slightly beter. The two side bars are wider than the overall forum message space. The search THIS forum function needs to be fixed, else it doesn't need to exist for me. Would be nice to see who the...
  14. DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CHANGE 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD Double Cab Pre Runner with Limited Slip Diff

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Following up on what moose and tacologist said. My 3rd party toyota specialty shop tried using their house standard, and it sucked. He replaced it with the Toyota stuff and it worked fine, and has continued to for 120k miles (with changes). I remind him every time to use the Toyota stuff.
  15. Joining the WeatherTech Mudflap Club

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Just came back from a trip to Redding (100°F) and Lassen Volcanic National Park (60-80°) at up to 8500 ft elevation, with some washboard road time included (yay, run the 4WD and 4LO for giggles and exercise). 905 miles at speed varying from 5mph on dirt up to 85mph on various roads. Got back...
  16. Tire suggestions for a 2015 Toyota TRD 4wd

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I was running a set of Toyo Open Country ATs that came highly recommended from a Reno friend for snow and ice conditions. Got 50k out of them, but the noise was too much for me. Never really challenged them in anything other than about 1 ft of snow in Tahoe. Don't do much snow, mostly rain...
  17. tacoma no brake lights

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I will have to crawl into the truck tomorrow and look at my switch. Drawings only show 2 pins with numbers. Crud, shoulda looked harder online, found it. Pins are numbered, when looking into the butt end of the switch, with the little locking tab up, as oriented per the switch in the link...
  18. tacoma no brake lights

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Your green wire should be the hot coming in from the fuse. Comes in on terminal 2 of switch, The light blue wire is the switched wire, terminal 1, and goes to both the brake lights and the shift lock. How many wires do you see on the switch?
  19. tacoma no brake lights

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Fuse IG1No 2 is bottom row center of the fuse box above your left knee when driving. Kneeling next to truck is easiest, but with your concerns I can see problems executing. The fuses are called ATM low profile according to sources other than me. Might be called low profile mini fuses.
  20. tacoma no brake lights

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
It's actually the IG1 No 2 fuse that controls the shift lock. Less likely to be noticed that the IG1 fuse, controls less noticeable stuff. The 10A Stop is for the brake lights. The two rear tail lights ground near the rear differential, the high mount near the floor seat cross member Left...
