  1. Overhead Console Temp & Compass, Broken

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Haven't been on for a while, but got on today and seen this thread. Mine stopped working back in the summer and I just wrote it off as something that had died that wouldn't ever get replaced; but thanks to you all, jerked it out and one of the resistors had come completely off. I soldered it...
  2. Illuminated 4x4 switch

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Here's where the bearing goes; you have to keep it pressed in as you install this part. There should be a spring also in this part that makes the switch index. The photo is 2 tacomas; I just added the red arrow. Hope this helps.
  3. Help! Anyone know the specs for the centering pin/bolt for the rear leafs?

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
    The pins I used were 10mm Grade 8 .
  4. 5100's question???

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Yes, they are made to work with the stock springs / coils.
  5. Add-on Bed Outlet to non-trd

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Took me a few days before I got some extra time. Here's a few pics of what I did for the bed outlet when going to a larger inverter. First of all here's a pic of the larger inverter which I installed using the front bed rail. Here's a pic of the outlet installed. I cut a 1/4" ss plate the...

Map light mod: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t91499.html Also, check the DIY sticky. There's a lot of small mods. Here's a link: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t93275.html
  7. Add-on Bed Outlet to non-trd

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I would look more toward a marine type recepticle for the back. The wires to the factory outlet will never handle much more than the 400 watt factory inverter and there is no way to install larger wires to it. I installed a larger inverter and had to replace the factory outlet. I made a...
  8. Pro Comp Drive Shaft?!

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
The add says a cv "Front" drive shaft. Tom wood's is for the rear. Unless I misread it.
  9. Truck Bed cover - Bakflip owners

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I wouldn't cap them; these drain any water that might get in the track. I put some 90 degree fittings in the hose and drilled a hole in the cubby hole pieces on each side to run the tubing out.
  10. rear lights...

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Mine's been in since Nov. 05 and I've not had a problem. They are never on very long though. Might pm Pb also , but mine have been fine.
  11. rear lights...

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I replaced my backup light bulbs with 886 fog light bulbs works pretty good. Here's a write up of PB's. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t93076.html
  12. Truck Bed cover - Bakflip owners

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I got a bakflip (1st generation) after piercedtiger got his. Had it for over 1 1/2 years or more and I loved the way it worked, but started having all the issues mentioned by some of the others: weatherstrips coming unglued, panels bowing, lock cable covers coming off, etc. I really wasn't too...
  13. Anyone cut their mudflaps down to shorten them?

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I cut mine off about 1 1/2 years ago and haven't had any chips as a result on the side of the truck. I do have the tube steps though which may have caught a few rocks.
  14. Min spacer size for rear?

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
The blocks can be made real easy whether 1/2" or 3/4". All you need is some plate that thickness and make it the width of your springs and the length of the spring perches on your axle; drill a 10 mm hole thru the center and use a longer centering pin. You might have to have longer u-bolts...
  15. Bigger Tires - What about the spare?

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I went to 265/70/17's on my sport. I also got one for the spare and it fits, no problem, in the spare tire carrier.
  16. quick kc wiring question

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
The lights should work fine wired like your schematic. The load wire is only energizing the coils in the 2 relays.
  17. Help Identifying Noise/Feeling

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
Picked my truck up at the dealer said everything was normal. Asked if they removed the wheels to hear the hum as the driver's side was spun; No, they just drove it and jacked the front up and spun tire and all. I could hear it spinning the tire, but you could feel and hear it a lot better with...
  18. Help Identifying Noise/Feeling

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
I've only drove it a few times since removing them and I've not heard or felt it buzzing like it did. The spacers compressing the springs may be amplifying the sound, I don't know. Also, one other thing I noticed was a lot of the vibration felt in the steering wheel was gone. Have an appointment...
  19. Help Identifying Noise/Feeling

    Tacoma 2nd Generation (2005-2015)
My truck has the intermittant buzz/vibration. I only had the 1 1/4 spacer in the front. This past week it was time to rotate the tires. With the wheels off in the front I thought I'd give them a spin to see if this was something I might be able to detect. When I spun the passenger side I could...
  20. What brand of tools?

    Tacoma Lounge
Craftsman have a lifetime waranty, if you break or damage one they will replace it free. Here's a set in the price range you were talking about that looks pretty good. My tools are a mixture. Was a pipefitter for 20 years and have all brands...
