So what would be the best decision? Rebuild or get one of those JDM 3vzfe engine? There's one on eBay for a good price. Well there's a lot of them for a good price haha Taking the heads off are a pain but I can do it. I figure it would be easier to swap a JDM engine. I already have all the parts...

So I rented the OEM pressure kit. I tested from both sides. Engine side at around13psi and the radiator side about 14. Doesn't go any higher the that. Testing from the radiator side the pressure goes down but really really slow. Is the pressure suppose to hold?. Not fast but it does goes down

So when I opened the top coolant cap from the engine. I noticed that bubbles start appearing when I turn the car. Starts like a bit foamy. Then it disappears once the car is warm but I can notice some bubbles and Like a burp as well every now and then.Could that be the reason why my reservoir is...

I thought the 3vzFe only had one plug and the 1mz is the one that has 2? I don't recall seeing one by the filter on mine. That's what I did. But I'm assuming I still didn't take all of the old coolant out even if the last drains where clear

Where is the other one? I thought it only had one drain petcock behind? Well anyways I did try the back one but it was a pain to get it loose. Once I did take the plug out. Nothing came out. The petcock may be broken? Didn't look like it. Well if it is broken then it must of been by the mechanic...

Didn't want to open another thread for a simple question. I flushed the coolant while my car was non operational. I flushed the car with distilled water until it was as clear as it can get. Then put coolant with a 50/50 mix. Thing is the coolant doesn't stay the red color. when it's cool it...

I ended up returning the aftermarket one and got one from a wrecked car. Excellent condition! And like you said tony, if anything seems bad I can just return it. No hassle. I told the seller and it seemed weird to them that it didn't work. They said that they test everything before selling and...

That's what I was thinking. They sell some on eBay from junkyard places but what are the chances those may have a leak as well? They are about 40 bucks. I dont know. But I think rebuilding one of these are pretty difficult. So I've heard.
  10. Changed distributor.

So what I did was put the old one back at 10 btdc. Ran fine. So what I don't remember doing was setting at 10btdc with the new distributor so I put the new one back in. It's fine right now but I noticed that when I take the oil cap off. The idle does not lower or anything (no change in idle)...

Yeah! So maybe wiring is different from the original and the new? Hasn't turned off yet at all. Turns on and off fine Probably it's the brand of the distributor.
  12. Changed distributor.

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Exactly the same! Weird isn't? Well I put the old distributor back and at 10 btdc. It okay so far. Except I'm back with a leaky distributor The "us eqpd" is what made me think that the new one maybe isn't compatible although it looks exactly the same. I know these cars are delicate when it...

I'll check into this after. Thank you. Well now that I let the car cool off and in the mean time I was swapping the ecm. Well I tried turn it on and it it doesn't start. Cranks but no start. Swapped the old ecm back and still nothing. (We can rule out the ecm?) Update 2: So I turned it back...

. I meant one injector wouldn't work because it was not getting ground. So when it got checked back then they told me to connect it to the ground from the other injector. And the injector worked fine. The ecm I have now most likely is bad. Now that I recently got the other car and have the ecm...

I'll go ahead and swap both and get back to you guys here after! I was close to just connecting them and leaving them loose..
  16. Changed distributor.

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Yes. It did. And right now I started again and let it idle for a bit until it died again but this time now the car doesn't turn on. Ima wait till it cools off and see if it turns on. That's what I was thinking. The distributor I bought said the item is "us eqpd".

2nd update: So I turned it on this morning. And it turned over fine and after about 30 mins or so it completely shut off. This time though the car turned on right away fine!. Can't really pin point the problem quite yet. Timing is at 15 btdc. It all looks fine. When you buy parts. It sometimes...

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Okay. when I checked the timing after I had put everything back. It was between 5 and 10 degrees. That's when I moved the distributor to adjust to 15 degrees. The afm 3 clicks (clockwise-lean). Took off the connection between te1 and e1. Check the timing again and moved up which it is suppos to...
  19. Changed distributor.

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
Well I put all that back to factory setting just in case. All I have to see if it doesn't turn off after a being on for a while. I'll check and set the timing to 10btdc Just to make sure I'm doing the timing correct. All I have to do is connect te1 to e1 and connect the timing (positive and...
  20. Changed distributor.

    Camry 3rd and 4th Gen '92-'01, Solara '99-'03
So I replaced the distributor because the old one was leaking from inside. I followed the instruction from a thread here "93 v6 ignition timing question" and when I was done putting everything back( the two bolts that hold the dizzy just hand tight to adjust timing). The car turned on fine and...
