REPLACED BONNET LIFTERS.
AC DRIVE PULLEY OUTSIDE RIM/EDGE BENT IN CAUSING BELT TO BREAK APART. CAUSE UNKNOWN
REMOVED OLD BELT AND STRAIGHTENED PULLEY. RAN TESTS OK.
1 X GATES 5PK1105 DRIVE BELT
LEAKING RADIATOR COOLANT AROUND TOP AND BOTTOM HOSES.
DRAINED COOLANT, REMOVED AND REPLACED HOSES. FILLED WITH NEW COOLANT.
CHECKED FOR LEAKS AND FOUND THAT THE WATER OUTLET HOUSING HAD A SMALL PINHOLE. REPLACED HOUSING AND TESTED OK.
UNABLE TO DO A WHEEL ALIGNMENT ON FRONT LEFT WHEEL.
INNER TIE ROD SEIZED TO OUTER TIE ROD.
REPLACED INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS LEFT FRONT.
RUNNING ROUGH WHEN STARTING ENGINE COLD. AFTER ABOUT 30SEC WILL RUN OK.
STARTED FAULT FINDING CHECKED VARIOUS SENSORS CLEANED CARBY
CHECKED IDLE, SPARK PLUGS AND COMPRESSION.
AFTER CHECKING COMPRESSION NOTICED A DROP IN
CYLINDER 1 205 ALL OTHERS 2- 210 3- 210 4- 210 PSI. I THEN CHECKED
SPARK PLUG FROM CYLINDER 1 AND FOUND PITTING AROUND BASE OF PLUG.
AT THIS POINT I HAD ALSO NOTICED COOLANT LOSS BUT NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF LEAK. IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME TO HAVE A CO2 TEST.
TEST WAS POSITIVE.
THE POSITIVE RESULT FROM THE CO2 TEST MEANT THAT I HAD A LEAK IN THE ENGINE HEAD.
REMOVED COOLANT FROM ENGINE AND BLOCK FULL SYSTEM FLUSH.
TO ALLOW FULL SYSTEM FLUSH I REMOVED THERMOSTAT AND HOUSING.
AFTER A FEW QUOTES I WENT WITH A LOCAL COMPANY WITH 25 YEARS EXPERIENCE.
HE GAVE ME THE BEST PRICE WITH IN HOUSE MACHINING.
RESULTS OF A BRAKE STEERING AND SUSPENSION TEST

FRONT LH & RH STRUT MOUNTING PLATES SAGGED OR COLLAPSED.

FAULT: LEAKING A SMALL AMOUNT OF COOLANT OVERNIGHT, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 12 WEEKS. I SUSPECT A WATER PUMP AS THE COOLANT IS COMING OUT OF WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE.
I HAVE PURCHASED VARIOUS ITEMS TO RECTIFY PROBLEM AND ALSO REPLACEMENT OF OTHER ITEMS WHILE DOING THIS JOB.
Along with all the above work there have been normal servicing Oil, Filters ETC.
