General Information

I have a 1988 Toyota Cressida that is currently getting a 1uz swap done. A little history on the car. I live in Indiana and a buddy showed me a Cressida on craigslist that was clean af. I talked to the lady that owned it. She lives 4 hrs away in Cookeville, TN but it looked like great car so i offered her 300 and went on my way to buy it.

When I arrived I found that not only was it in great shape, other than the trans, but she has service records from day one to to present day. This Cressida has only been at one shop its whole life and that was the local dealer. The only person that touched it was the husband of the woman who was a certified Toyota tech. You could imagine my excitement when I found out how much of a gem it was. Been garage kept its whole life. Very very little rust on the car at all. The pearl white paint still glistening after a good bath. The interior is almost perfect besides the off color brown floor mats.

I decided that this is always going to be a ongoing project for how many years, but now idk. So I started to remove the engine and transmission from the vehicle. I sold the 5m to a celica supra guy and scrapped the shit transmission. After spraying down the engine bay and all the years of oil and crud, it turned out clean as new. I then decided to source an engine. At first i was going to ls1 swap it, but that can be a bit expensive, so I chose a alternative route. 1uz and W58. I already had a W58 and a LSD supra rear end off my last Cressida project that I just parted out. I have so far got custom brackets and mounts for the swap, completely went thru the engine and replaced what seals and gaskets and accessories i needed to replace. This is currently where I am at. The engine is complete except the thermostat and belt. The trans has been gone thru, new bearings and seals. I still need to order the bell housing conversion for the transmission. Get all my shiny goodies like the headers, radiator, and work on all the suspension and wheels. I plan on running most of my suspension setup from Techno Toy Tuning. They make a lot of really good quality parts for my car and I want this to be a good quality build even if the build never stops.
