When I go to press the brake pedal to stop ABS kicks on, happens almost all the time. No lights are on when it happens or when it doesn't happen. I have replace all struts, both tranny speed sensors, and front wheel speed sensors. Please help if you can! I don't know what to do now.

For a few weeks I have noticed that when I brake, sometimes I feel a slight 'pop', 'pop', 'pop' sensation from the pedal (this is the best way I can think of to describe it!). I haven't noticed any deterioration in the stopping power of the brakes. All rotors and pads seem okay. I was thinking...
  3. Avalon 5th Generation (2019+)
My 2019 Avalon Touring has approx 48,000 miles. At around 25,000 I took in it for a service and mentioned it was shaking when stopping. They checked the brakes and said the front brakes needed replaced and did it under warranty. I can’t remember at the moment if they did anything with the...

Hello everyone. I have a 2016 corolla LE Eco and Iv had it for a little over 2 years. Recently I switched to progressive and got the snapshot device. Immediately it started pinging saying I was braking hard. At first, I thought it was just my driving but after a full month of pings I began to...
  5. Sequoia Forum
Hello, I am hoping someone can tell me what the minimum rotor thickness is for the front and rear rotors on a 2006 Sequoia Limited 4wd with 17 inch wheels. Thank you.
  6. Highlander 1st Gen - Hybrid (XU20/2005-2007)
For a while now my 2007 Toyota Hylander hybrid has been saying VSC system not working. The car was driving fine, so I ignored it. My front brake pads needed replaced, so I replaced them and machined the rotors. I felt like that process went well. I did not change the calipers or bleed the...

So my son recently had his 2000 v6 camry in for some exhaust work. He also asked mechanic to inspect for some shaking with the steering which seems to get a bit worse when braking. Mechanic says two calipers are seized; one in back, one in front. Also pads in rear need to be replaced. Wants...

I’m lookin to get a whole new brake kit front and rear. I’ve thought about getting new calipers too. I’m on the hoonigan website and I can find the front calipers but the rear only shows for 2010-2011 will the rear calipers fit my 2012 4cyl???

Hi! So a mechanic changed all 4 of my brakes and now, all of a sudden, my emergency brake isn’t working. It’s all loose and no nothing. He then tells me that it’s a separate system from the brake pads and that he’d have to take off the discs and brake pads to “readjust” the emergency brake...
  10. Highlander 2nd Generation (2008-2013)
My old kluger, 2007 GSU45, has a brake booster failing and hissing, and causing a vacuum leak too. I have a replacement, but I've just looked at a service manual and it's the classic "step 5: remove the engine"!!! Left-hand drive models look a lot easier in the videos as you remove the air...
  11. Corolla 8th Generation (1998-2002)
Purchasing a 2002 Corolla which has leaking rear brake line(s). Not sure if it is one or both rear lines as I have not been under the vehicle. Does anyone know if the master cylinder front or rear reservoir is dedicated to the rear brakes? I am asking because for a very short distance...
  12. 4Runner 4th Generation (2003-2009)
Okay, so preface. I currently daily drive (or as close to it thanks to da rona) a 2004 4Runner AWD SR5 V6. Really no major work done to it other than a recent transfer case swap due to some bad berrings in the old one causing 4WD to make an interesting griding noise. My dad says brakes were...
  13. RAV4 3rd Generation (2006-2012)
Hi I’m trying to find out the brake pad size for my 2006 2.4litre rav4 Apparently there a 2 different size discs on this model How do I find out what it is?
  14. Highlander 1st Generation (2001-2007)
Hey all, I have a 06 Toyota Highlander and recently changed out my brake pads and rotors. Now the passenger rear wheel is now making loud clunk/squeak sound when I stop and go in reverse. It happens when I let off the brake pedal. It doesn't do that when go forward. Here is a YouTube video The...

Just got Akebono ASP1212A for '12 Camry SE. They came with a black backing plate on each pad so I didn't think this meant to also reuse the old stainless backer. Am I mistaken? The black plate is not slick at all and has almost a carbon-fiber feel to it. I tried the old stainless backer plate...

Hi, disclaimer: I'm a noob when it comes to car mechanics. Garage today said "front brakes are done". I was wondering what brakes I should get. After a quick search it looks like everyone recommends OEM brakes, but I'm not sure where to get them from (I live in Canada). Besides, am I getting...
  17. Corolla 6th Generation (1988-1992)
I own a 1988 sr5 5-speed and am looking into swapping in a 4age motor for the stock 4af (if you have any suggestions for which 4age, please feel free to mention it). I think a lot of people only think about going fast and they never really consider stopping with the added power. I am trying to...

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, I have a 2015 Corolla S and it's a fantastic car! Since ownership, I have done a few mods such as tinting the windows, headlights and foglamps, adding a subwoofer and amp, and just this weekend I painted my calipers. Once I begun doing prep work to paint the...

Hello all, I am currently in need of new calipers and brakes all around and I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone and upgrading to the ES330 brakes because the fronts have dual piston calipers. I have 16 inch alloys that I run in the winter and apparently those will clear, and the...

Hey everyone! Is this spacing between the disc brake and the brake bracket normal? Only noticed this once I changed the rear discs and brake pads. What could the cause be? The disc isn’t spaced symmetrically between the bracket.
