  1. 4Runner 2nd Generation (1990-1995)
My MAF is broken. The brushes that connect to the potentiometer snapped off, so there is no long a contact. Is there any way to repair this problem without purchasing a ne sensor. As I‘m disabled, I’m on a fixed income which makes it cost prohibitive to purchase a whole new unit. Any suggestions?

I got these codes the other day while I was idling in a parking lot. I have replaced the MAF sensor, but the problem is still there. If anybody has any ideas, PLEASE let me know. All of the information I have found online hasn't helped me. I tried to clean the old sensor before I replaced it...

Hi, I have a Camry LE 2004, 4 cylinder that was slow accelerating. I changed the air filter and saw no improvement. I changed the fuel filter a few days ago, and as an after thought, cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I did it carefully, first soaked it in alcohol over night, seeing no...

Hey all, I removed the MAF sensor in my 2006 Corolla for cleaning, and I noticed that the two wires are bent. They are parallel with each other but not parallel with the housing. See image below showing the side view of the MAF: I have not touched the wires, nor do I think the previous owner...

Hi all, My 2002 Toyota Highlander has been my workhorse for 8+ years and now her and I have 226k miles. The check engine light on my 1999 Camry XLE is on. I took it to Autozone, which found the error code P0171 (Air/Fuel mixture system lean bank 1). In an attempt to DIY, I purchased CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. Can anyone help me locate the MAF sensor? My understanding is that the v4 (which...

  10. Corolla 8th Generation (1998-2002)
When I turn the car on, it idles low and if I give it a little gas on neutral, the rpm's will slowly rise. If I give it more gas it would, kind of choke and rpms would fall. There is very little power and if your at a stoplight and you start going again, the car will very slowly accelerate...

Thanks to all the fellow DIYers, I post this on a positive note after clearing the emissions on my Toyota Camry 2002 V4, 112 k miles after 2 failed attempts. The accelaration of the car is also MUCH better. So I failed NOX emissions..NOX was above 5000 when the limit is 1500. CEL has been on...
