So I bumped into another car and tweaked my front bumper (boo :sosad: ). It's not bad, just seems to be a few paint wrinkles and pushed back a bit.

However now I notice the under guard has come loose where it was attached in the center and on the passenger side. I noticed the passenger side screw hole was damaged/enlarged.

Is this piece also called a valence? It is the black plastic guard under the front of the car, attached to the bumper.

So question is: can i remove this without damaging the car? What is it protecting? Any tips or pointers on this one?

Thanks!

It's a splash shield and helps to direct the air. It's only around $25 so just replace it. The dealer will probably have it in stock and know exactly what you are taking about with your description.
