Just bought a 2003 tacoma 4x4 to replace my beloved 86 model. This one has wind noise on the upper driver's side door. The gap needs to be adjusted inward to keep air from coming through the upper weather seal. The hinge bolts (door side). don't seem to have any adjustment. Any help greatly appreciated. I could fix my old one in my sleep, but this truck is much more complicated.

I'll look at my 2002 today and see if I can see an adjustment or ask my neighbor he is a body man and get back to you. but it is so nice when you go back and work on the old vehicles (so simple). anyway.

Looked at mine and it does not look like there is an adjustment but I bet you could get 1/8 adj with them loose.
give it a try.
hummm you are trying to go inward, hummm. well are you sure you don't need a new seal?

FYI, I did some checking in a manual on this vehicle, referenced & linked on this site (this site is a great resource, BTW) and found a hint to replace the centering (shoulder) bolts in the hinges with std bolt to allow adjustment. And now we know ). Knowledge is power:)

door adjustment

Hi Greg one method I saw a ford workshop use and have used it once myself it is a bit unorthadox is to wind the window down first then support the body of the door with your body and grab the top of the door frame and flex in the required direction depending on the gap you have the force you use be carefull and dont use too much force as I imagine it could be detrimental.

Good Luck Joe
