Is there any value in my 3.4 liter V6 Tacoma engine for parts? The engine ran perfectly until it jumped time AT IDLE. The engine has around 375,000 miles on it. Any input would be appreciated. I'm not a mechanic, but I completely disassembled the engine and would be willing to sell any parts that are needed . My truck is a 2003 Tacoma 4x4 Double cab.Thanks, Marc

Yes there is if you have the time, space and desire to sell the parts off. Things as simple as valve covers can go for $75-$100 ea.

any clue exactly the hows and whys it did THAT?
and how to prevent something like that happening, i am clueless about much

well what was it!? what happened to make it do that
time isn't nothing but a number on these old trucks i ican go searching back to pre 'o10 and even earlier like last millenium
...need to prevent those types of issues if at all possible
i thought the ONLY main concern was the HG and overheating warping

3.4 has a timing belt. The Lexus/Tundra 4.7 has a change interval of 90,000.
I had the timing belt on my '91 Ford Escort jump just sitting at a red light. 70,000 mile maintenance interval, the car only had 60,000 on it. The replacement belt failed at 115,000.
