Could be just about anything, but first check to insure the battery is working so remove and have tested for free at any auto zone. If OK, an all connections are good an clean including the ground cable, then are you getting fuel pressure? when was fuel filter last changed? Or engine tuned up? Is there spark to the plugs? You need fuel, spark and compression to run. If all the simple checks fail then you need a good mechanic.

Hope It helps!!!Here's some toyota news for diesel Tundra update. You can check this link.. http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2007/12/12/diesel-tundra-update-diesel-tundra-likely-in-2009/

Well, if you were talking about a Ford, I'd know exactly what the problem is...

Idle Air Control valve. REALLY common problem with the Fords, at least the 5.4s.

I'd be guessing, but it sounds like the IAC could be your issue.

I have had this problem when we have an extreme temperature change, lets say 10 degrees to 60. I am not sure what part of ca you in, but condensation can cause an engine to stall due to the water moisture. Once it gets through or flushes out you should be fine.
