Hello all,

I just bought an 05 Echo HB 3 door LE.

It has a lot of kms (107 000 kms)... but it looks like new and I got a good deal.

The only thing is that the clutch squeaks when I depress it (not on disengaging....) and it seems a little stiff to me as compared to other Echos I drove.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The clutch on my old 98 Civic was like that after 300,000km of abuse. I never did manage to figure out the problem. Dealership said that clutch master cylinder was leaking and/or it needed an overhaul / new pressure plate. Anyways, I didn't believe them, but I did sell the car shortly after.

I've done some searching and others seem to have fixed the problem by replacing the "return spring".

I'll give that a try.
