Hi everyone. My 2005 Matrix was running fine then simply quit. It cranks and cranks but will not start. There is no sound coming from the fuel pump. When I disconnect the connector at the fuel pump there is on wire that is live all the time (key on or off) and no other wires show power. When I turn the key on it remains the same. No other wire becomes live. I've checked every fuse and relay, no luck. Someone said something about a circuit opening relay but I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is or have any suggestions? Thank you. Dave

Thanks everyone. No CEL's and it was never taken in for the TSB. What I figured out yesterday is the car has to be cranking (not just in the on position) for there to be power to the fuel pump. I pulled the pump as a last resort and bench tested it. The pump is shot. I'm dissapointed in the Matrix breaking down so early (by Toyota standards). My 84, which I bought in 86, was 20 years old before anything went wrong with it. My 91 pickup has over 250,000 miles and aside from the rust it's running like a champ! I'm hoping the non-japanese made vehicles are as good as the ones made here but I'm beginning to wonder..... Thanks again, I'm off ot change the pump
