Guess what, "I don't care what you think". If you don't like them that much, then don't get one. It's as simple as that. Why would you come to a 2005+ Tacoma forum and completely bash our vehicles that we love so much. Go back to your 1989 Hilux Forum:gaydumbo: and stay there.
So you are saying that toyota is better off making slower, less powerful, trucks? Funny thing is I had a 1991 3.0V6 and it was leaking from the heads, burning oil and losing power w/ only 90,000 miles. No engine is perfect, but I am pretty damn sure that this new 4.0L is going to last longer. Not only that but it has nearly 100 hp more than that engine and gets the same MPG.
Also, you find me one person who has broken or dented the plastic bed and I'll show you 1000 who have broken or dented their metal beds.

From looking at your post, and your sig, it doesn't sound like you even own an 05+ Tacoma, in which case your opinion doesn't mean shit to me. I do own one, and admit it isn't perfect, but thus far, it's been by far, a much better vehicle than anything else I've ever owned. The plastic bed, yeah sounds like it would be pretty weak huh? Well, if you have checked out any threads on this, you'll find that there are no widespread problems reported with it. If you ask me, unless your a time traveler, that just returned from the future where you witnessed all the 05+ 4.0 Tacoma motors shitting the bed, than you just sound like moron, telling everyone that the motor isn't going to last. It may, it may not. All anybody can go on is past expererience, and the company's reputation, other than that, nobody knows how reliable this motor wil be. You know there are guys here who do nothing but complain about the stupidest shit on this forum, and then there are guys that will defend this truck to the death, willing to overlook the most major problems. Like most everything else in life, my viewpoint is a balance somewhere between the two extremes. If you have a legimate gripe, ie: you own one, and you have such, and such a problem, I'll be more than interested in hearing it, I mean shit, that's the biggest advantage of a forum llike this right? Other than that, good luck with your search for the "mint used pre '05 toyota ", or better yet the F-150 your in love with, then you can go talk your shit on the Ford forums.

I dont really give a crap what this moron says. IMO the 05 kicks the hell out of the older models in almost every way. Like alot of others have stated no truck is perfect, and I dont expect perfection out of this one, but look at all the improvements. Better milage, better acceleration, better handling, bigger, higher towing capacity. I had a 98 4runner before this that I was extremly happy with, as well as several other toyotas. This one is my favorite. Oh yeah, and I also had an f 150 for a while and if this clown thinks they are a better choice over the new tacoma hes on crack.
