normal for it to slightly drift to right. it's a safety precaution in case u ever pass out at the steering wheel.

yup. it was discussed before. it's just supposed to be a slight pull though. but i guess it would suck if you were on the fast lane and u passed out.RAV4EVR said::lol:
ARE U SERIOUS??
Also, take into account the slight grade of the roads to funnel rain water off to the sides. I had my old 2000 Audi S4 wheels perfectly aligned, but if I let go of the wheel when on the passing lane, I'd drift left, and on the slow lane, I'd drift right.lininator515 said:yup. it was discussed before. it's just supposed to be a slight pull though. but i guess it would suck if you were on the fast lane and u passed out.
There is a TSB for this. I had it done, but I left the info at work. I'll post it tomorrow.summerwind said:I searched and didn't find anything on this.
My 07 XLE seems to wander to the right when I let go of the steering wheel
Air pressure in the tires is 32PSI all around.
Anyone else have a similar problem??
Um - whereever did you hear this advice. :lol:normal for it to slightly drift to right. it's a safety precaution in case u ever pass out at the steering wheel.
They did this on my car and it did not work. Had to get the TSB done.marc780 said:Um - whereever did you hear this advice.
I just solved this exact same problem (on my 2002 V6 88,000 miles), and i can tell you with reasonable certainty, its probably caused by "radial pull". And this isnt the first time i had this problem on a car either, i first noticed it on my old 1983 Sentra - i work on cars every day and talked to a bunch of mechanics and the radial pull is the best answer.
I can't really explain it in technical terms, only in terms of what fixes it. Radial pull means that some front wheel drive cars are sensitive to the tires in front. They can be the exact same make of tire, same air pressure, perfect balance etc. but the damn car still pulls!
The fix is to swap wheels in front from the other wheels on the car until you find a combination the car "likes". Sounds crazy, until you try it maybe.
I know this is true, at least for mine, because every time i buy new tires on front this sh%t happens. And i have a life time alignment with Goodyear and had them check the alignment, they said it was perfect and showed me the readout! So i swapped tires, twice, and now, no more pulling. At least til i have to buy tires again :cursin:
Yes, it is TSB ST005-01. This bulletin contains general vehicle pulling diagnosis and repair procedures along with specific information to help correct pulling complaints.summerwind said:Midnight..have you located the TSB number at work yet??
I don't know. They gave me a copy of it along with the diagrams of how its done when they did the TSB on my car. Maybe someone in the forum can tell you. Post a new thread asking where it can be found.marc780 said:OK i want to know, where do i look up this TSB information anyway?
i googled it but nobody wants to give it for free, not even Toyota. Anybody own a scanner?I don't know. They gave me a copy of it along with the diagrams of how its done when they did the TSB on my car.
Check your email.. I sent it to you this morningmarc780 said:i googled it but nobody wants to give it for free, not even Toyota. Anybody own a scanner?
