'07 Dash Trim Kit....Y or N?

1504 Views 7 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  lammydi
Anyone installed a dash trim kit in their new camry? The light wood in some of the XLE's looks pretty good, but I don't know if these kits you can buy on ebay could duplicate such a look. Also, there's so many to choose from (carbon fiber, different woods, etc.) My fiance wants to get a kit to jazz up the inside of our Camry, but I'm still not so sure about it. Any thoughts, suggestions, or pics out there of kits that have been installed?

I personally think you should get your dash pieces painted rather than go with a dash trim kit.

I like the wood kits.
I probably would buy one if they made a kit the exact same wood shade as in the XLE.
I've looked and haven't seen anything out there.
I agree, it looks tacky. My S80 had a wood trim kit added to the gray pieces on the center stack to match the other real wood on the doors and such. It was obviously an expensive kit, and matched the grain and color very well, but it was a kit, and you could tell easily. It didn't look really bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. Personally, I would equate it to the dash cover that PhantomGrey keeps posting about. Very NYC taxi, imo.
.....and not installing these kits every day, what are the odds you will get one piece on crooked and need to adjust it, fouling up the adhesive? How long do they last before they begin to peal off? Just say NO.
It's a personal taste

I have it and like it. The car is yours and you should do with it what you will.
