Anyone know where I can find a wrench for the oil filter on the 07 Sienna?

Due to location and style of the filter, I had a really tough time getting it off with a strap wrench. Ended up tightening the filter with a socket in the drain plug and praying it didn't leak and didn't strip the drain plug's threads.

Looked online for a wrench....Tried the dealer....tried NAPA....no luck.

Lucked out and got a coupon for a free oil change just before I was due for my second change, so I have 3-4 months before I need a wrench....but rather than procrastinate again, thought I'd start searching now. I don't want to give in and have to pay Jiffy Lube.

Have seen a couple adds online for a wrench by Assenmacher Specialty Tools, but on Assenmacher's website, the wrenches listed are for older Siennas or other Toyota/Lexus Models.

I have yet to change my own oil in this car, so I don't know how difficult the filter is to reach. I usually resort to hand tightening on my last couple vehicles. You'd be surprised how you are able to turn the filter the correct rotation(s) to secure it properly.

The new cartridge type filter housing uses the same cup wrench as the small oil filters{corolla,4cylcamry,prius} aka F1 and F2. Just remember the O ring seals the housing and no need to crank it down too tight

I've read before that the 65 or 67mm cup style that you can purchase at Wal-Mart or Advanced Auto should work. I actually bought one for my first oil change on my '08.

My problem was that the entire housing would turn when I tried to remove the drain plug. I ended up removing the entire thing with a big mess. It still worked, but anyone know what kind of wrench to use to keep the housing still while you remove the plug?

xmateo this is a different kind of filter that I gather you're talking about. It's a permanent cylinder that contains a disposable paper-style cartridge. There is a drain plug on the cylinder that you are supposed to be able to remove with a 3/8" ratchet, a plastic piece that drains the oil from the cylinder, then you remove the cylinder itself and replace the cartridge. If you go to the autoparts store and find the filter you will see what it looks like along with the rubber gaskets that must be replaced each time.

Interesting. I didn't think the oem filter from Toyota was like that. I'll open the box and check.
