I bought my wife an 09 XRS with auto tranny and about 50k km on it a few months ago. I don't drive it much but like it when I do. One issue I have is that when I jump out of my Tacoma and into her car the throttles are sooo different that I smoke the tires.

As soon as I touch the pedal on her car it takes off hard. It is to the point of being hard to drive in the city.

Is this normal for these cars? If not what can I do about it?

I've not heard of this issue but many of us installed a throttle controller to improve the throttle response. With this you can also mellow it out too. Do a search & you can read about them. We have 2 brands, the Pivot & Weapon R.
