Hey all, long time lurker in the forums. Tried searching for hours and cannot find a solution.

Wife's fob battery died after she hasn't driven her car in months, changed the fob battery but the car still doesn't detect the key and the buttons don't work either. She's still driving around by putting the key to the push start button and starting it that way. The red light comes on the keyfob when you press unlock but its a very slow solid then blink. Seeing if I need to get the key reprogrammed?

Any help is appreciated.

I would try another battery, the slow red light doesn't sound right to me. Also a good idea to make sure the battery contacts are still good and clean.
