OK....so I have been living under a rock the last 10 years. I took my 2019 hybrid in for its first 5K service and the guy told me yes, the service is included, but, these don't require oil change until 10K.
I think my '08 was 5K I have to trust they're know what they're talking about, but wow, when did syn oil get that good??i

The maintenance schedule says that if you are using 0W-20 oil, the interval is 10K; any other oil is 5K.
Why waste money on shorter intervals using 0W-20...

The EU has been pushing for 10K mile oil change intervals for awhile, for reasons of used oil and filter waste disposal and general oil usage issues. There are over one billion vehicles on the road worldwide.

You can certainly do oil changes more frequently than required by Toyota if you desire.

My town has waste oil heaters to heat their DPW buildings. I know many of the quick lube places here in the North East also use the wast oil to heat their buildings.

I'm still not convinced of the 10k oil change interval. Probably great for most of you, but I keep my vehicles past 300k miles. I know for a fact 5k mile oil change interval will keep my vehicles running well for 300k miles. I'm not convinced 10k mile oil change will. Let me know when some of you reach 300k miles on the 10k mile oil change interval.

Does the 2 year free maintenance include air and cabin filter changes on Toyota?
I do my own oil changes, but would take it back to the dealer for the air and cabin filter change if it's included in the free maintenance.

I am fine with the 10k oil change interval with the use of 0W-20 Full Synthetic oil in general; however, I am very picky with the very 1st oil change from brand new (around 2500, just me and my preference).

Most likely not, but, I have heard some members mentioned that their dealers did... I asked for the parts at the time of my purchase, including two (2) oil filters...

If the dealer refuses to change your oil at 5000 miles, tell them that you are 'special service' and want to follow the 'special service' intervals. When other automakers call it 'severe' service, Toyota calls it "special'. This simply cuts the change interval of the 0w20 from 10k miles to 5k miles. If your car is special to you, follow the 'special' service intervals. Its in your manuals. For those that want to gift their vehicles to kids or grandkids 20 years from now, you won't regret the extra maintenance and lack of common issues caused by the recommended 'lack of maintenance'.

My vehicles are special and get special service.

The will do the oil change if the customer pays for it. I had the 2 free oil changes done by the dealer (10k and 20k). I did the 5k and 15k oil changes and 5k oil changes after the last toyota free oil change since then. Cheap insurance

My 2015 tundra was flex fuel. Flex fuel vehicles were supposed to have oil changes at 5k miles, non flex fuel at 10k. I bought a 2019 non flex fuel tundra in October of 2019. Just went to dealer for 5000 mile service. Oil change was covered by Toyota Care. Two weeks ago I traded my wife’s 2014 grand Cherokee in on a new 2019 highlander. The oil will be changed at 5k whether it’s covered by Toyota Care or not. Oil changes are cheap, engine rebuilds, not so cheap
