If this is not allowed please delete or point me to a different spot to post.

I'm looking at a 2015 Limited Platinum AWD at a dealer. It's clean (only a couple scuffs on paint) and only has 18,500 miles.
Can anyone advise me on what a good deal would be?
Thanks very much.

Themama- thank you very much for the response. The dealer started at $39K & is now at $37K
New ones come for 42. My point is to look for 20% savings on used car. If you are financing there will be at least 1%apr difference between used and new car. That will be about 1k more for used car financing for 60months.
So if you are not saving at least 20%on used..why buying used.
Well that's how I ended up buying brand new. I started with 33k and 37 was where dealer was willing to go.. Then the same dealer offered a good deal on new car so went for it.

NADA or Kelly Blue Book will give you a good idea. Prices on vehicles vary a good bit by region.

I buy cars for a living and I know people who make a good living buying here and selling in another region.

The real question is why is a Loaded 15 with only 18k sitting on a dealer lot. Very good chance he bought it at auction (where most dealer used cars come from). I'd look at history carefully.

So, do used Toyotas sell for more in some regions than others?
Nope.

AWD models of all makes bring more money up North and in Colorado. Convertibles do better in California, Texas, and Florida. Sports cars sell better in more affluent areas, etc. Nothing special about Toyota, but they do well across the board - along with Honda and Nissan.

No real ironclad rules... but NADA prices are based on actual sales figures. Go to NADA.com and input what you are looking for. It's unlikely a dealer will go much below that on a vehicle that is high in demand, but their cost is obviously in play.

I'll have a look at NADA as well. I appreciate the guidance.
