I am actually amazed how smooth the ride is with the 19". I found that to be the same with the Ford Edge and Explorer's 20" wheels. Probably because I traded in a 2011 Kia Sorento with 18" tires. Talk about a very firm almost harsh ride. These other vehicles felt like I was driving on a cloud compared to the Kia's ride. 19" is a real oddball size. Much more choice with 17", 18", or 20". I really like the look of the larger wheel and the design of it.smaller sidewalls so theoretically better handling/responsiveness to turning (I can't confirm this as I've never driven the 17", but others here on TN have mentioned this before), at the cost of cushion/absorbing road imperfections. But I've never thought the 19's were too firm or rough. As for tire variety, there are a lot for the 17", but pretty slim pickings on the 19"
Besides that, I can't think of other differences.
