Hello all,

I just got a 1973 Hilux truck and got it running after sitting for about 4 years. I've resurected countless old VWs over the years, this is my first Toyota. Very similar these two how simple and easy they are to wrench on.

A couple of questions for the old Hilux people: Mine has the usual 1968cc engine, does it have hydraulic or solid lifters? If they are solid, then what is the clearance and how often do they need adjusting? (I'm no stranger to valve adjustments thans to the VWs)

Also, what other vehicles have rims that fit this truck nicely, considering clearance and backspacing (2WD, stock height).

Are there any disc brake conversions for the front?

Thanks in advance!

(BTW: this is a standard U.S. market vehicle)
