I will be driving along in my 1978 Toyota Landcrusier. Then out of no where i will go to give it gas and nothing, the engine wont rev up. There is still power to the lights and radio etc. If I turn off the key and turn the engine over again it will start right up. This happens about 4 or 5 times a day. Does anyone out there have any idea on what could be wrong???? PLEASE HELP

sounds like a bad fuel pump, or coil. they cant handel the higher load. you can also try and tune up the engine that can fix something.

While your at it change your fuel filter? Can't hurt, and it inexpensive. I had this same problem in my '85 Corolla, did a bunch of stuff to try to fix it (fuel pump, filter, coil) here it was the distributor goin bad.
