Just a recap, 1985 Toyota Corolla 4AC Engine. This thing is baffling me. It is firing (and running on) cylinders 4 and 2. I have a very light spark on 1 and 3 Lying a plug on the block while running. However when i place the wires back on the plugs in the block it makes no difference at all. I have changed the plugs in these two cylinders and changed the wires. No difference. Equal compression readings on all 4 cylinders. Is there a pickup in the distruibtor that has died on the 1 and 3 side or something? The coil has 1 pickup point so i wouldnt think it can differentiate wich cylinder its feeding. There is a star shaped unit under the rotor button and some type pickup that gets readings from it. Anyone have any ideas?
