(Sorry if its in the wrong thread)

i have a 1989 pickup extended cab, Manual everything. OK what happened was I got in my truck, drop ten min and tried to open the door and it didn't open. It sounds like everything is working mechanically but still nothing. The lock and window work fine. I can't get the door panel off cause i can't get the door open, but i have in off enough to see don't by the latch. I'm not very good with cars so I need some major help.

So both handles dont work now (outside and inside)??

Sounds like the rod that connects from the handle to the mechanism came undone or might have broken. They are held in with little plastic clips that clip over the side of the rods.

If you can muscle it, you can remove the drivers side seat and pull it out of the passenger side. That will give you room to pull off the door panel.

If you can't to unlock it by the outside key/inside controls, most likely one of the linkages inside the door is messed up. There are little plastic clips connecting all the metal links together. One may have broken.
Getting inside without being able to open the door is close to impossible with out tearing into the inner door upholestery.
Trying to get in from the outside w/a slimjim is a really good try.
