Can anybody tell me exactly where to find the thermostat on my 1990 corolla? I've changed a thermostat or two before, but can't seem to figure out exactly where to find this one.

its located where the radiator hose goes into the block.

This would be the upper hose from the radiator into the block? With the thermostat being closest to the engine side?

Would it be strange if I couldn't find the old thermostat?

no, lower hose...... on the end of the block, on the #4 cylinder side
