is this the easiest way?
By leaps and bounds. The 3sgte motor has the same motor mounts and beyond that you only need the peripheral stuff like drive axels, hubs, ecu, wiring harness to make it work. To make a 5sfe motor turbo requires a lot of modification and fabrication, and unless you go really over the top you're still not going to have as powerful a motor.

the 5SFE doesn't take well to forced induction of any kind. the easiest and best way to get boost is a 3SGTE swap. there are more than a few companies around the country who will perform the swap for you, and can offer performance parts to install at the time of the swap.

Best bang for the $ is to get a complete swap possibly a gen II motor $2200-$2800 and drop it in there with axles brakes etc etc | Tcharging the old 5sfe is like walking backwards, even though when those cars where new it was done plenty. IMHO
