Ok just put a fuel pump in the tank. i know that the pump only comes on in the start position with the key.and only after the motor has started.for safety engine starts and as soon as i put the key in the on position motor dies .motor runs good as long as the starter is engaged.(i know too much of this will burn up the starter )all fuses and relay are good .the distributor has power in the on key position.any Toyota news and techs run into this problem?

Is the motor actually running or just cranking???? When you replaced the fuelpump did you rewire it? SOunds like a wiring problem...

the solenoid (which is part of the stater) maybe shorted.... ??
