Hello -
This is my first post here. I am having a problem with my mothers 1994 Camry 4 cylinder. The car just got a new CAT on Friday. The car ran fine afterwards, but today it did not start. I am sure this is just a coincidence.

I am thinking it is the fuel pump. The car is over an hour from me, and I will be working on it on Friday.

I have a few questions if someone could answer. Is there a main relay that could be bad? Some cars have a safety switch that trips the fuel pump incase of an accident - do Camrys have them? If it is the fuel pump, does the 1994 4 cylinder model have an access panel under the rear seat?

Where is the best place to buy parts for Camrys? My mother is retired and just spent $600 on the catalytic conveter, so I am trying to save her some money.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes there is access under the back seat, just give the cusion a good tug. First check to see that you are getting spark. If you are, next pull a spark plug out and shine a flashlight into the chamber to see if the piston looks wet. If it does, you are getting fuel.
Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear Toyota is smart enough to have an access panel for the fuel pump. Most car manufacturers dont seem to think about this.
I have to assume this is the fuel pump with so many miles. If there is no spark, this would be the coil that is shot, or could it be the computer? I'll check it with a meter to make sure.

I know older BMWs - so sorry for my ignorance with Camrys (Although my fiancee has a 2001 v6).

Thanks again!
