Hello
I have a 1995 toyota 4runner with an a340h transmission .
Sometimes it shifts perfect and other times I have to hold the brake and rev the engine to get it to shift into gear
It runs good after it gets into gear .
Any ideas on problem would be greatly appreciated.
I'm a weekend fixer at best .

What condition is the ATF?
Does it have a OBD2 port, some 95's did, get it scanned for transmission codes.
Possible transmission solenoid showing it's age.

No it does not have OBD2 PORT
and using the jumper wire in fuse box not throwing any code

And I changed the fluid and filter after about the 3rd-4th time it did it to me
