Hello i have a 1996 geo prizm 1.6 5spd 217k on it. the other day i notice a clicking noise coming from the driver side. So i thought i was the cv joint but after listen to it today or seams like it is coming from the rear. the noise increases in frequency as speed increase. starts at about 20 mph. Is there some kind of bear or something that would do this.

There are pieces of the backing plate on the rear brakes that rust, get bent and rub on the drums. Remove the wheels, drums, check the bearings for smooth operation, but bearings usually do not click. For the most part it starts like a humming noise and gets worse when the bearings go bad.
