i have a friend that wants me to help her change the oil in her car, and I don't know which weight oil to use. is it 10W-30 just like most of the other toyotas? which brand do you guys like using:? and how many quarts do I need? thanks in advanced

Does she have an owner's manual? The weight is usually on the filler cap. Any name brand dino oil should do and should be done are regular intervals. More freuently if she's in a lot of stop and go traffic.

i took a guess and used 10w-30 with 4.5 quarts. she didnt have an owners manual, car seems to work fine with what i put in.

10-30 should be OK. 5-30 would have saved her some MPG, but not by much.
