I don't think that the standard cab is as comfy as an extended cab. Maybe an extended cab model might do you right? I ride sometimes with a friend of mine that owns a 4 door model, but for me it does not have the leg room even though you have the room to bring the seat all the way back. The 4runner seems to have just a bit more leg room. And for a daily driver I like that..... I don't think that you could go wrong with the 4 cylinder engine. Toyota makes a great 4 cylinder engine. You have to remember that the 4runner is a heavy rig and the more power the better in this case. I own/have owned 4runners with the 22re, 3.0 3.4 and the 4.7. The 22re is about 16-18 mpg, the 3.0 is about 18-20 mpg, the 3.4 is about 18-21 mpg and the 4.7 is about 19-24 mpg. Hope this helps.
