I have a 1999 Avalon and am working to replace the fog light bulb, I’ve already bought the bulb, it just looks different then bulbs I’ve replaced in the past because it has a wire lead coming off of them. Is it pretty straightforward from underneath or are there any steps I should know about? Thanks

I just finished replacing my 98 Avalon fog light bulbs. The easiest way to do it is to remove the two nuts that hold the light assembly to the bumper cover.

Remove the two 10mm nuts then push the assembly out. Then you can easily see what you're doing from the front of the car.

Replace the bulb, reinstall the dust cover, verify the bulb works, reinstall assembly in bumper cover, reinstall belly panel. Done.

Just avoid handling the bulb with your bare hands. The oil in your fingers will etch the bulb and shorten it's life.
