There are differences in the motor and the car. If you have a pre 89 Supra then you need a new front cross member. If you bought the Soarer motor, then you need different engine brackets and you may have a fair bit of wiring ahead of you.

It's true, 86.5 to early 89.5 you'll need to replace the front cross member.

But if you want to avoid the the front cross member, someone made custom mounting brackets for the early MKIII.

there is a good possibility it is a soarer engine. so in order to put it in lets say a markIII id have to get new brackets?

mounts, bell housing to mate to the transmission, computer, wiring harness needs to be extended, and the list goes on. This is not a 2-3 part to install job. The easiest way, and I use the word easy loosely, is to get hte front clip from a supra with everything already on it and swap it all out.

If its a front sump motor it came from a Chaser, not a Soarer. You'll need a new upper and lower oil pan before you can even bolt the thing in.

My advice would be to sell that engine on a Nissan forum because they need the front sump 1JZ if they want to swap it into a 240SX. After you sell it, go out and buy a JZA70 Supra's 1JZ-GTE and save yourself a lot of headaches.
