I need to purchase a new jack to lift my lowered car and do occasional work on my 2016 Venza V6 AWD Limited. With the venza having a curb weight of 1835 kg / 4045 lbs (2.02 tons) will a 2 ton floor jack used with 2 ton jack stands be sufficient?

it looks like it would be fine, I'd be more concerned with overall jack/ jack stands quality in general.

I have a torin jack from costco. http://m.costco.ca/Torin-2.5-Ton-Aluminium-and-Steel-Service-Jack.product.100065199.html Works perfectly and 2 ton jack stands. Remember you're suppose to use two jacks together, so technically its good for 4 tons when your front or back is up. You are not lifting the entire car only one side of the car. Also not supporting the entire car on one jack stand.

Thanks for the info. This jack will be mainly used on my car, I will only use it on the venza when I need to swap out the winter wheels to the spring summer wheels twice a year.

Yeah I will most definitely be using a pair of jack stands alongside with it.

The jack should be ok; as stated just make SURE the jack stands are beefy. I have two aluminum low jacks and although they work, they aren't the greatest for lifting or prolonged use. Even near their highest point the pressure and lifting are greatly diminished. A good way to blow the jack. But for just getting it high enough for lower jack stand settings it should be ok.

There are times when you just want to carry your jack for work... I have other bigger jacks for when duty calls but hauling those out is never fun. I do recommend a heavy 3 ton jack (or larger) just to have.
