Hello all
New here. Looks like a great forum.
Question for the experts.
I have a 2000 Prerunner V-6 with 63k miles on it. Took the truck in for a smog check and passed no problem. On the way home, check engine light came on. Never has before since I have owned this truck about two years, hence the smog check
Brought the truck back to the smog place, they read the trouble code of 171, lean condition bank one. The tech indicated prolly o2 sensor, pre-cat.
Is this pure coincidence this sensor failed minutes after the smog check? Anyone else experience this?
Also, anyone else ever experience hard starting while warm or hot, forcing you to give some gas for it to start? This problem has been going on for some time and not related to the above problem, more than likely..
Thanks all for your help!!
Chris
