Bought new in 2001. Still going strong at 200K miles.

Changed oil every 7K with synthetic oil.
Still has original water pump.
Still doesn't use hardly any oil, maybe one quart between 7K mile changes.
Put new KYB shocks on it last year.
Auto tranny is still good, did a full flush two years ago.
Replaced the valve cover gasket last month.
Preemptively changed the fuel pump two months ago (original was still working).
Did a starter ring rebuild at about 150K.

not bad at all, u got lucky with zero oil burning issue, besides i am a severe stress driver almost everyday i RED line the rev meter. i use the O/D button for downshift and gain quick speed when i feel like car is stalling so probably you are doing the opposite plus i am at 250k miles from my opinion i would have never changed the OEM fuel pump provided it was working ok. i have always used the conventional oil in my Corolla and have the 3k oil change other than that congrats on ur corolla after-all she is the most reliable and loyal girl

Preventive maintenance is the key.
real talk, but i am abit old school if its aint broke dont fix it, considering the build quality during the year 2001 vs build quality now has a huge difference that fuel pump bought and installed in 2016 might last next 7years and give up while the one came with it last 15years ago might still be doing its job:smile::grin:
