My coworker purchased a pre-owned Solara and is having problems with his remote keyless entry. He stated that this morning, he pushed the "options" button and the remote "trunk" button and the car started. He also said that last week, it would not unlock the doors when he was standing outside but it did when he was in the car. Do any of you know if there are programs for this car's remote that he can set himself. I own a Maxima and I can program my keyless remote myself. Thanks, Ed.

That doesn't sound like a factory installed remote, more like a dealer installed or (more likely with remote start) an aftermarket system installed by the previous owner.

Your co-worker should look for the control module to determine the brand/model. Once he has that information he might be able to download a troubleshooting guide from the manufacturer's website.
