I have a Toyota Corolla 2001. Every time I try to start the car I must turn it over once for a couple of seconds, then stop, then I turn the key again and it starts right away every time. It has been doing this for at least a year or two. FYI after it started doing this I have replaced the battery, ignition switch, air filter and have also checked the spark plugs. Anyone got any ideas what's happening. Thank You

P.S. I do notice if I have just turned the car off and start it again within about 15 minutes it sometimes starts right away (about 25-50% of the time).

If it's a short, would it not keep happening all the time instead of just the 2nd time he tries to start?
