Hello....trying to figure a course of repair for a 2002 Highlander V-6, 155,000 miles. Had multiple misfires (po 300, 302, 304, 306), and a po174 signaling lean condition. Switched sensors, checked vacuum hoses, and the thinking was maybe a cpu problem. Nothing was done and vehicle was driven with a maxed out too rich mixture for 2 years. CEL started blinking, was alternately non responding & then surging, and barely got it home. It will start and idle pretty smoothly, so I'm hoping theres no major internal engine problems. Timing belt and exhaust system replaced about a year ago.
I want to learn and work on it, hoping to get advice on where to start. Thinking of replacing coils, plugs, PCV valve, and cleaning throttle body etc... to begin with? Brand new to the forum---Would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you!
