Could someone tell me how to change the overhead light bulb.
The bulb maybe burnt and needed to be changed. Door opened or closed, light not on.
I heard that it only can be changed by dealer.

It's called the dome light and you heard wrong. It takes 1 minute to change yourself. The clear cover pops right off and the bulb is held by a metal clip that you pull back. The assembly that holds the bulb could be bad. My '98 was partially melted and I bought a new one from Toyota. I forgot what the price was though. And it's easy to change. You just need a Phillips screwdriver.

If you find any 01-02 Corollas, you can salvage the map lights and retrofit them into the 98-00.
