Hello, can anyone help me? A friend of mine gave me his 2002 toyota tacoma 4X4. It is a 4cylinder with 53000 miles. He said he really hasnt had any service other than oil changes every 3 or so thousand miles.

Can anyone advise as to what servicing I should have done at this point. I have noticed the brakes making a light noise when depressed.

Thanks.

Sounds like you might want new brake pads and do it soon before it messes with the rotors. You might also consider a new air filter, spark plugs, change the coolant, tranny and differential fluids. If someone gave it to you that's nice! If I were you take it to a good mechanic/shop and get a 60k service and tune up then it will last you for a good long while.....I would guess an average price for a 60k tune up is about $400 -ish
